While I'd love to say this site doesn't track anything at all, that wouldn't be entirely accurate. The modern web is a complex place, and even a simple documentation site like this one has some moving parts worth mentioning.
I don't personally collect any data about you. Really, I wouldn't even know how to begin doing that. However, this site does use services from third parties who might.
This site is hosted on a server somewhere (I mean, everything has to be hosted somewhere, right?), and that server automatically logs some basic information when you visit - things like your IP address, the time you visited, and what pages you looked at. This is just how web servers work, and I don't do anything with this information.
If there are any ads on this site (and there might be - hosting isn't free), they're managed by third-party advertising networks. These networks typically use cookies and similar technologies to try to show you relevant ads. They have their own privacy policies and data collection practices over which I have limited to no control.
The same goes for any embedded content from other sites - think YouTube videos showing speaker builds, or links to social media. These services might track you according to their own policies.
Most modern browsers give you pretty good control over your privacy. You can:
This is a simple site documenting a speaker build project. I'm interested in sharing information about building speakers, not collecting data about who reads about building speakers. Any tracking that happens here is incidental to using modern web technologies and third-party services.
If you have questions about this, you're welcome to contact me, though I should note that my expertise is not web privacy regulations.
You know those annoying cookie popups that everyone hates? This is my way of avoiding adding one of those to the site. Yes, there are probably cookies. Modern websites tend to have them. If you've made it this far into a privacy notice, you probably already know how to handle them through your browser settings.
This privacy notice might change if I add new features or services to the site. But let's be honest - this is a documentation site for a speaker build. Major changes are unlikely.
